I read your whole post and can understand a lot of your problems and the questions they lead to. The comment about the DME never saying they heard about mouth leaks is sadly typical of some poeple in that profession and the reason so many new users reach out to sites like this on the internet to find experienced people to communicate with about everyday issues involved with CPAP and OSA. I almost think you need to find someone closer to mentor role as compared to a random posting about a whole slew of issues. You brought up about a dozen questions and they all relate, probably, to a condition known as UARS more than full blown sleep apnea. I think this is a good step posting like you did, and hope others can respond, but my advice would be to get on google and search on something like 'sleep chat forums' and maybe reach out to several different sites so you can gather better resources. Once you get searching you'll find places and sites that can support the exchange of email address and file exchanges that can't be had here on this site. Oh, one other thing, sometimes masks can make a big difference. Find the one right mask is a big step to making things comfortable. Good Luck with everything.
