This had been one heck of a battle. While this may seem like a random post, it is difficult to separate all the different issues.
I have seen over 40 doctors in 7 different specialties in the past 8 years. I keep hitting the same political block wall. No one wants to take charge and direct me where I can get what I need!! Toxins are a TABOO subject! I reference PubMed when I can. When I go outside of Traditional Medicine, the expenses become prohibitive. AND the doctors that are practicing outside of Mainstream Medicine (Alternative and Holistic for example) are NOT recognized by medical insurance companies for reimbursement OR disability insurance companies. They are considered "quacks."
Where does one turn then? The forums and chat rooms on the internet are a nice place to share experiences, but without actually having an accurate diagnosis from a licensed M.D., medical insurance will not pay and disability will DENY everything you throw at them....because that is what they pay their review doctors to do.
Also, my medical insurance policy and disability insurance policy (group policies through my employer) do NOT pay for work related injuries. So far, it has not been proven to be work related....because I don't think it can be proven. But my detox treatments have fallen under the "not medically necessary" or "investigational" category and not reimbursed.
My mask makes a relatively good fit. As well as could be expected I suppose. I have to adjust it only a few times a night. I also have a nasal pillow type that I got from a friend who no longer uses it. I have not yet tried that. And yes, it has new pillows and I will disinfect it before I try it.
