What is your serum vitamin D? New research indicates it should be either 40-60 ng/ml or 50-80 ng/ml depending on which researcher you follow.

"McCann & Ames point out that evidence for vitamin D's involvement in brain function includes the wide distribution of vitamin D receptors throughout the brain. They also discuss vitamin D's ability to affect proteins in the brain known to be directly involved in learning and memory, motor control, and possibly even maternal and social behavior. The review also discusses studies in both humans and animals that present suggestive though not definitive evidence of cognitive or behavioral consequences of vitamin D inadequacy. "Our results suggest that supplements of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (vitamin D3) influence glucose metabolism in patients with GDM probably by increasing the insulin sensitivity. [Diabetologia (1997) 40: 40–44]"

If you are obese, avoid the sun, and do not drink about 8 glasses of milk a day there may be a vitamin D issue at the root of it all.

We are naked apes, evovled for 5 million years naked in the sun, making tens of thousands of units of vitamin D in minutes exposure to sunlight (no sunscreen).

"When someone is vitamin D deficient, there are a host of symptoms they may experience, and chronic fatigue is one of them. Along with that, a vitamin D deficiency can cause periodontal disease, soft bone disorders, depression and seasonal anxiety disorder, low blood calcium levels, diabetes and chronic muscle aches and pains". Individuals who are experiencing more than one of these symptoms may have a vitamin D deficiency."
