This happened to me and my mouth would blow up like Dizzy blowing on his horn.

My health was so poor at the time there was no time to take any other avenue but my other medical problems indicted a trach was necessary. This stopped the problem but it would be the last resort in your case and I feel other measures may be available.

The obstruction was so bad there was no place for the pressure to go but up.
