Quantifying severity is sometimes more an art than a science. Severity is measured by number of Apneas, duration of Apneas, and blood oxygen level. The correlation between these measures of severity and what one's CPAP pressure will be is a very loose one. Similarly, these numbers probably don't tell much about how severely a patient is affected. Perhaps there will be a more accurate way to measure severity in the future.
