I went back to the doctor today to ask for a sleep study, but he wouldn't refer me for any kind of tests at all. I live in the UK, and it seems that doctors are very reluctant to send anyone for sleep studies unless the symptoms are very obvious and debilitating. He said again that it mostly affects overweight middle aged men so I don't fit the profile. Also he said that as I'm not super-tired during the day, I don't meet the criteria for a sleep study. So I guess I'll never know if my sleep problems are caused by apnoea or not... I just have to put up with it
