In fact the doctor really was very dismissive because I'm slim and generally healthy. He didn't examine me or recommend any tests - just asked a few basic questions and said I wasn't eligible for a referral. Whenever I complete any of the online tick-box assessments for sleep apnea, I always get a warning that it might well be that. I never sleep well, I wake up many times with a "snort", I nap during the day, and my partner has noticed that I sometimes "hold my breath" during sleep.
The point is - it might be sleep apnoea, it might be something else. I need a diagnosis, but I'll never have one without some sort of assessment.
