Just so everyone knows, a pulse oximeter can not rule out sleep apnea. It would be easy to screen
everyone before a sleep study if it worked for screening. Bottom line, it can rule sleep apnea in
but it can't rule it out. Not everyone desats during apnea events especially people with good
lungs, UARS, or central sleep apnea.Your device could move you from having full blown OSA to severe UARS and the oximeter will tell
you that you have no more problem. I believe using a video camera with infra-red, set up for long
a recording would work better. Video yourself without sheet covers and make sure you can see your
stomach and face.It is fairly easy to spot someone sleeping with sleep apnea.
