Remstar Auto M Series failing?

I am seeing odd numbers on my Remstar Auto M Series. I have been using it on the Auto setting with C-Flex for several years, and I keep an eye on the averages shown on the screen (leakage, AHI, pressure, etc.) Max pressure is set at 16. The last couple months, it seems as if the Auto does not adjust pressure at all. I see a fairly high AHI (8 to 10), but the pressure reported does not rise above its base setting of 10.5. I would expect it to be upwards of 12 or 13, if it is sensing apneas and increasing the pressure to combat them. As an experiment I set the low pressure to 9 and it never reported over 9. This problem started when I switched to a different mask. I feel like I am sleeping better and dreaming a lot more, and yet the machine is reporting AHI considerably higher than with my old mask, but lower pressures.

Any idea what's going on here? Is the machine failing? Does the AHI now consist of mostly hypopneas rather than apneas, and does the machine not adjust pressure for hypopneas?
