I wondered earlier if the greater pressure would make a difference in using nasal pillows, but it seemed to me that the air pressure is the same either way. I know that when I was first tested with CPAP and tried multiple appliances, I commented that with the nasal pillows I could feel the air blowing, while with the mask I could not. The technician responded by increasing the pillow size, and the feeling of blowing disappeared. So I wonder if the greater pressure has the effect of exacerbating any leak that is present (or even creating one), so that you need to create a greater seal across your nostrils.

Perhaps you have tried this. You experience sounds very frustrating.
