After I had mma surgery, air would automatically leak out of my mouth due to my new jaw structure. I switched to bipap which lowered the pressure upon exhalation. To my great relief this has helped decrease leakage. I still have to sleep with my mouth taped (paper tape) and sleep with a foam cervical collar because I tend to bend my head/chin towards my chest. Some people sleep with a cervical collar in lieu of a chin strap to keep the jaw closed.
