You can try a different headgear, I guess.

I have a problem with the plastic forehead rest. I generally put a piece of terry cloth (a child size sock is best) between my forehead and the headrest. I also sometimes wear the headgear upside down (it stays on better). Doing this puts the narrow piece near my neck where it rubs. I put the other sock there.
