Without looking at your throat, just from what you have described, I would have to say your
GP doesn't know what he is talking about. CPAP reduces inflammation so you need to find out
what it causing it. You may have a virus, cold, flu, allergy, or a bacterial infection. Here is a guess, the sticky fluid, in your mouth, is coming from your lungs or sinuses, wild
guess. Sleep apnea tends to cause dry mouth. With inflammation you may need higher CPAP pressure than normal. I would contact the doctor
who prescribed CPAP and tell him what is happening. You should avoid anything that can make OSA worse like alcohol, sleeping on your back,
muscle relaxing medications........Just a thought, if you sleep on your side with a towel under your mouth maybe the fluid will
drain out into the towel. You really need to speak to your sleep doc about this or another sleep specialist if he
isn't available.Remember, these are my opinions based very little information, no medical history, no
physical observations, etc.Best wishes,
