Three months seems like a long time; if I remember correctly, I think my doctor told me 3 to 4 weeks. (But I don't remember precisely what she said, and did seem like a long time when she told me.) But the length of time depends on a lot of things. Some people take a long time to get used to the CPAP machine, and it's hard to get a good night of rest until that is settled. (It sounds as if you handled that part pretty well.) Some people start with greater sleep deficits than others, and it does take time to overcome a long-lasting deficit. There's also a difference between feeling more rested and feeling as if you have your old level of energy back. I'd guess that after 3 to 4 weeks you would at least notice the difference, even if you are not fully rested.
