How have your emotions changed from sleep apnea? What kind of personality changes have you experienced? Have you lost your job or has it affected your relationships?

I was NEVER an angry person and now I get irritated SO easily! It seriously irritates me when my little girl whines or cries. (It never ever did before so I know it has to do with sleep or the hormonal changes lack of sleep has caused. I mean, I was like Miss optimistic and cheerful all my life!! It saddens me that I am irritated by her whining or cries.)

Has it seriously affected your social functioning? Like if you were always the one with the sense of humor and full of clever witty comebacks before, do you find you cant ever think of anything funny and your family or friends tell you that you arent funny anymore? I've totally lost my sense of humor and I'm anti-social. And when I say I've lost my sense of humor, I mean I don't even comprehend why people are acting silly and being funny. Did it even cause changes seeming to resemble a psychiatric disease?

I just want to understand how badly sleep apnea can really affect you psychologically and how it has affected others. Thanks!

P.S.- Once you started treatment, did the personality changes improve???
