In my case, sleep apnea probably worked more to deaden emotions and reactions. Things were much more likely to seem boring; just as you can get sleepy when you are bored, you can get bored when you are sleepy.

I think all of us need to fall back on some kind of reserve when we are stressed, and when you are sleepy you have less reserve to fall back on. That can make it easier to snap back or lose your patience.

Is it possible you are depressed? Depression can lead either to withdrawal or to anger, and sleeplessness can lead to depression.

Yes, it does get better with treatment.
