Nice post, good to see all the details when trying to tease out a problem
like difficulty sleeping with CPAP.Are you on any medication that could have a side effect of difficulty
sleeping? Everyone is different and many meds can cause insomnia or
excessive sleeping, depends on the person. If all medical issues have been ruled out there may be something you are
missing in sleep hygiene. Take a look at the Tips for Better Sleep page and
see if anything comes up. http://www.sleepnet.com/tips.html You mention
using ear plugs. They seem to bother me and can be a little dangerous, not
being able to hear fire alarms or other important sounds. I prefer white
noise and if my CPAP wasn't loud enough to block out unwanted sounds I
would get an old fan or purchase a white noise machine to mask noise. It is
isn't too loud you should be able to hear fire alarms, etc.Another sleep disorder that could cause this type of problem is periodic
limb movements during sleep PLMS. If you slept with someone on a regular
basis they would probably let you know, sleeping alone makes it difficult
to rule out.Best wishes,
