I think you've done a good job of identifying the likely problems. I'd try heating the humidifier and seeing if that helps. Air leakage could especially cause problems, though you supposed to have air vents; I can't tell from your description whether the air leakage is natural leakage through the air vents or leakage from a bad seal. If you hold your hand near your face, you can identify both where the air is leaking and if the air is blowing on your eyes. But since you are supposed to have air pressure on your sinuses, I think the humidity setting (or the lack of heating) is the likely issue.

The required air pressure is highly variable, depending on the person. There are many people with higher settings than 9.
