The mild soaps do work to keep the masks clean. A recent study conducted at
Harvard found that bacteria builds up on masks and become resistant to the
soap over time (4-6 months). These bacteria could contribute to other issues
like respiratory problems, sinus infections, etc.

You can search for more permanent solutions. Just Google search CPAP,
sanitizing, disinfectant, or cleaning. One provider to look at is Better Rest
Solutions.
