I started using my CPAP machine again about six weeks ago because of a return of the OSA symptoms that I experienced about 5 years ago. No noticeable improvements as yet, but will keep at it.
In my search for a better night's sleep, I've also been trying to prevent myself from sleeping on my back. What I did was stuff four tennis balls in a sock and pin the ends of the sock across my night shirt so that the balls are lined up laterally over the small of my back. I've not noticed any improvement in how I feel the next day. I don't have a sleep partner, so there's really no one to notice if I rolled onto my back at any time during the night.
Does anybody have any alternative ideas about preventing back sleeping?
I'm also trying the nasal pillows starting tonight. Just out of curiousity, during my appointment with the home health care techs today, I had them make sure the titration on my machine was set correctly. Geez, I'm glad I had it checked out! It turned out it was set at 4.5 instead of the perscribed 8.5, so they adjusted it for me. I hadn't used the machine in years, so apparently it got "bumped" down. Hopefully, the right titration level will help as well.
