Disturbed sleep patterns are often a symptom of depression. Somewhat diabolically, the disturbed sleep patterns of OSA frequently CAUSE depression, so you can see that misdiagnosis of cause and effect is a very real possiblity. Not to mention the fact that doctors are often too damn ignorant of medical information outside of their own narrow little area.

I went to a psychiatrist for three years, took partically every antidepressant that exists with no results except for side effects, had every classic OSA symptom in existence, and this guy didn't have a clue about what might really be wrong with me.
