Hey Dave:

Here's my history on CPAP masks for the last 2 years.
My provider set me up with the usual el-cheapo mask and it worked OK for the first few months and then " here we go with the leaks", like you had. I too went with the Gold Seal mask and loved it until I experienced open sores on the bridge of my nose. It became a struggle trying everything from the recommended 3M Micropore (tm) tape to a small piece of lambs wool someone suggested here on the forum. The wool worked but it wouldn't allow my nose to heal enough during the days.
After changing healthcare providers I found a true friend who welcomed me as a ginuea pig and actually GAVE me a number of different masks no charge to try and remedy my sore beak.
We finally tried the Monarch Mini-Mask which is very small and only rests (also uses headgear), between your upper lip and nose, nothing sets on the bridge at all. I don't even consider nasal pillows. It makes it much easier to watch TV in bed too !
If you have a generous provider or still have trouble like I did with the sores that don't heal I recommend the Mini-Mask.
It's good to have a couple different masks in case of complications or just for a change of scenery, so I am experimenting with the Mirage which seems OK thus far.
Best of luck Dave, keep in touch and sleep well everyone !

Frank
