Posted by W6SA on October 23, 1999 at 15:42:33:I have been using CPAP with the Mirage mask for two months. I am generally satisfied with the mask although it still annoys me at times.
I am curious about the proper fit. From the pictures I have seen it appears that the Forehead pads should be in the middle of your forehead. To minimize leaking, I wear my mask rather low and the pads are practically on my eyebrows. This can be very annoying. If it should rest in the middle of my forehead I will start bugging my supplier and medical plan to get the extension pipe.
Also, I see that the Port Plug is a replaceable part. What purpose does it serve? I have no data regarding it other than to identify it in a parts breakdown.
On the average, how often do the pads and cushions require replacement?
I will be calling the equipment supplier on Monday about the ultra fine filters they promised to me for my Solo and never sent as promised. (One a month by mail) Just took a close look at it today and it looks gray rather than white. A little overdue for replacement. Would like to ask about the pipe extension,if it is needed, at the same time.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
