Just happened upon this great forum....was searching for ideas on building a headboard; go figure! Anyway, I am 18-months UPPP post-op and 12-months septoplasty/turbinectomy and a piece of tonsil left in there from 35 years ago.
Would love to be able to post something positive, but..... I've experienced excessive scarring in the back of the throat, increased blood pressure and the pounds collect like trash. Probably secondary to the continuing OSA. The operating ENT was semi-willing to go back in and "trim" a little off, but he felt this could add even more scar tissue.
The septoplasty guy recommended waiting a minimum of one year before considering any kind of "trimming" as it can take that long for all of the swelling to disappear.
So, now that all of that is behind me and the fear of physicians and hospitals is starting to subside. Oh, forgot to throw in a little unexpected gallbladder surgery that same year, it's back to the pulmonologist soon for a re-work.
That's my long term story....maybe it's life with CPAP for me.
