Doing the Knife:UPPP Surgery in 3 Days

Posted by M. Cicardo on October 24, 1999 at 20:20:40:

I'm due for uppp surgery on Wed. Oct 27th at 10:45am. Tomorrow go in for physical assessment [lab, X-ray, etc.]

I am a little in the dark about what to expect with this surgery. All my Physician told me was to expect about 2 weeks worth of pain to accompany the procedure.

Now, with only a few days to prepare, I was wondering just how bad is this pain, does it really last two weeks? Are there possible side effects? When is it possible to go back to work? What sort of foods are best, what sort to avoid?

Seems after looking through previous postings that many of you have gone through this procedure. Please if any one would kindly shed some light on the subject I would certainly appreciate it. I have to admit I am somewhat apprehensive about this whole thing, and would love to here from someone that has gone through this!
