Sunshine, I don't think there is a pat answer to a question like this, but generally OSA is a separate problem that can be exacerbated by nasal congestion problems. I just was operated on for severe nasal polyps that packed all my sinuses and even the passages between them. In addition, I had a moderately severe deviated septum that was repaired. Prior to the operation I had gotten to the point where I could not breathe through my nose at all, so using CPAP was futile. Now, as soon as all this packing is removed and my poor nose returns to normal the doc says there is a *possibility* that I might be able to lower the pressure on my CPAP because I will breathe through my nose better (probably better than ever in my life). But I will take another sleep test to determine this. That my OSA would be cured by my nose/sinus operation is unlikely.
