1. It isn't usually doctors who employ the "if one is good, two is better" reasoning; it's usually patients. So I don't think doctors would, as a general practice, just jack up the pressure after a sleep study.

2. The dangers of creating Central Sleep Apnea with too much pressure are well-known.

3. In my own case, I was shown the sleep study (so that when the doctor's office made a typographical error in transmitting the results to the home health folks, I could correct it). I was also given a copy.

4. Let's face it, this is not a condition you can easily treat yourself, because you're ASLEEP when you have it (I had no idea I was rousing once a minute...I thought it was once or twice a week).
