Snoring without apnea?

Posted by Brianne on November 14, 1999 at 19:21:12:

I am a loud snorer, driving my husband from our room quite often, even my children can hear me clear across the house
where they have rooms. I don't seem to have any pauses in breathing (snoring), so I don't think I have apnea. The problem is I am tired alot especially in the mornings, I figure I am not getting deep sleep due to the snoring also, I have to get up a couple times a night(to go to the bathroom). Not to mention my husband wakes me to turn over even though I can snore in any position.
I feel awful that my husband is having to suffer through this too. He is very understanding about it though.
My question is what alternatives do I have? I really hate to have any surgery. I'm sure insurance would not want to pay for a c-pap without having apnea right? I have an appointment this week with an ENT/sleep specialist and I would like to be armed with all the right questions.
I appreciate anything anyone has to say.

Thanks,
Bri
