It seems to me using an auto titration CPAP would avoid the deliver of too much pressure to the patient. You only get the pressure needed to stip the apnic event up to some limit (mine is set at 10). I couldn't stand CPAP or BiPAP. There was too much pressure blowing at me when I tried to fall asleep. With auto titration CPAP (or SMART CPAP), I don't get the high pressures until I am asleep.
