My parents were often concerned that my apnea was so bad that I would surely suffocate in the middle of the night. I asked my doctor who is treating my apnea if that were possible. He told me there are many signals the body sends out to ensure you keep breathing thus it was not a real concern. But does the morphine possibly block some of these signals? Who knows. Sorry you are having this quandry.
