Tranquility Auto CPAP

Posted by CherylB on February01, 2000 at 22:14:20:

Found quite a bit of info on this Auto adjust CPAP on the Respironics website. After reading about its adjustment algorithm I discovered WHY nobody talks about this machine. It uses air flow measures to detect hypopneas/apneas and reacts PREMPTIVELY (meaning instantaneously) adjusting pressure with 2 cm step. They proudly say the machines was designed to adjust "rapidly" to impending events to prevent them. There's alot more technical stuff about waiting 40 breaths etc. but we all know a 2cm pressure increase will likely cause sleep arousals.
