Most people want a Smart CPAP with there own software. By doing that the Dr. is taken out of the loop. If you are on a straight CPAP and suddenly you begin snoring again this will alert the Doctor in a change in your condition that could be related to other things that no need immediate attention. On the other hand if you use the Smart CPAP it is not until the top range pressure has failed you that the Dr. will even be alerted to your change of condition.
I am always amazed that People with sleep apnea go through most of there life in denial and suddenly after beign Diagnosed they are expedrts in managing there own care.
