desperate - please help - thankyou - and the results

Lots of helpful responses. The main thrust was to use a "gel" tape on my face or use nasal pillows.

The two tapes I tried were Convatec's Duoderm and Biersdorf's "Cutaneo Novo". I cut a slither of each the same size as the groove between my nose and outer corner of my lip. Both products fixed well.

The Cutaneo-novo was more comfortable -it absorbs water and becomes nice and soft. Only problem is that if you don't use humidification it tends to try out but only to the consistencty of the Duoderm.

To save on costs - The deVilbiss mask has a relatively flat contact surface compared to the Mirage - so I stuck some tape to the mask rather than my face. The slivers of gel stay on for about a week! On AUS $4.95 sheet should last me about 3 months!

One day I'll try the pillows - Conjo's sound the best.
