Hi Nancy,

I hate to hear people getting the run-around like you when you are simply trying to get treated for a condition that you never asked for. My DME has been quite good, partly because the dude I deal with at the home medical equipment center has OSA and knows the BS we have to put up with in using the CPAP. He will leverage BCBS the best he can to help me because he knows how difficult it can be to comply with this type of treatment. For that I am grateful.

The only complaint I have with the DME is that they continue to bill BCBS for rental even tho I have bought the CPAP and humidifier! Their billing is screwed up. I have tried to explain it to them and they keep saying that they have it under control, and then I get another bill! No wonder our health care costs are out of whack.

I think that "60 Minutes" should do an episode on the hassles we go through to treat OSA in terms of dealing with insurance and the DME. The CPAP is actually the best part of the deal!

Keep plugging away!

Breezin'
