Dry nose and snoring again

Posted by Savannah on February03, 2000 at 14:43:54:

I have had my c-pap (sullivan V) with a heated humidifier (humidaire) for 11 days. I have had no trouble sleeping with it, no sores on my nose and I can wear it all night long. The first week I was really feeling some improvement
however, for the last four days I have been having problems. I can't seem to find the "perfect setting" for the humidifier. I have been from a 2 on up to a 6. I have tried saline spray and gels and I am on Nasacort nasal spray. I thought having the heated humidifier would help
better than it has. I am planning on putting it at 4 and leaving it there for a few days and see if I can get used to it there.

Worst of all I woke myself up snoring last night. I have always been a nose breather so I am pretty sure I am not losing any pressure through my mouth. I have had a few minor leaks at night which I easily re-adjust the mask(mirage nasal) and they stop.

I won't have to have a new sleep study will I?
I don't have an appointment to go back to the doctor until
March 1st. I slept maybe an hour all together last time and even the sleep tech told me it is very hard to get the right pressure on someone who slept the way I did that night.

I don't know whether to call the office and see if they want the DME to up the pressure or wait til March 1st when I have to go back. By the way my pressure is an 11. Is it common to have to re-adjust pressures so early?

Thanks for "listening",

Savannah
