I found that I had to raise the pressure on my flow generator after several weeks because I was detecting the onset of snoring just at the point of dozing off. I raised it 1cm and that did the trick.
I had to use my CPAP for almost three months w/o a humidifier, my nose stayed dry to the point of pain most every night. After getting the humidifier I did like you, I tried several settings up and down and then settled on about 5.5 as not being too warm or too cool and providing enough moisture. It seems that some of us can't tolerate the heat, a previous post pointed this out.
Leaking air through the mouth can be hard to detect. Dry mouth in the morning is a sure sign. Like many others, I have to go to lengths to make sure I don't leak, full face mask is one sure answer to that.
I have to use Flonase to keep my nasal passages open, and sometimes (horrors!) I have to supplement that with Afrin.
I think the next logical step is to have our nose, nasal passages and throat replaced with a synthetic bionic unit. That'll do the trick. Maybe I can get better looking nose out of the deal too.
Seriously, read through the forums, many others have gone through the same thing. Many different solutions. You may very well want to talk with your doctor about raising the pressure a little. If you're not having problems adjusting to 11 you can probably stand a little more.
Some others may be able to give more/better advice.
Good luck.Strider
