I have had similar symptoms, with redness around my eyes and much burning in my eyes. I'm not a doctor, but your symptoms sound like you might have either sleep apnea or hypopnea. Get to a neurologist or ENT doctor and get a sleep study ordered. Twelve hours of sleep is too long to feel tired during the day.
