FINALLY diagnosed

Posted by AZ Karen on February03, 2000 at 19:01:30:

I had the sleep study last night and was told I only slept for a maximum of 20 seconds at a time. My heart rate slowed enough that it scared the technicians. My oxygen level got down to 46%!! They put me on CPAP at 1AM and they said I slept MUCH better. I guess so. I didn't wake up to go to the restroom at ALL for the first time in I don't know how long and I didn't fall asleep all day today AND I actually went grocery shopping for the first time in months!!!! I have you all to thank as I was searching for the reason I fall asleep driving and I found this forum and INSISTED on getting a sleep study done after reading lots of postings. Thankyou thank you one and all! Just yesterday morning, I fell asleep at the wheel and woke up driving on the other side of the road in the dirt and only a few feet from going over the cliff!!! How ironic it would happen the same day I was scheduled to go for the study! I probably have you guys to thank for saving my life! I will be reading now to get more info on CPAP since they will be ordering me to get on it.
