I have the sullivan V elite and it's pretty quiet, just a hum. Maybe gradual adjustment to the sound. sleeping together for a few hours at a time. My other is a very light sleeper. But, the sound doesn't bother him. (he does wear ear plugs and an eye mask--we are a pair).
