Glad you replied. I wanted to thank you for suggesting I look at thyroid message boards. It was the best thing I've done in years. I've discovered there are other treatments I can have and I've made an appointment with a private doctor recommended by a couple of people.
As to the link, I have also come across the connection. In fact I actually saw sleep apnea listed as a symptom of hypothyroidism (wish I could remember where!). Not much attention seems to be paid to the breathing of hypos, but if every other system in your body slows down, you'd assume respiration would too. That would mean less oxygen being taken in, particularly at night. As I've said before, I've noticed (when I'm awake) that my breathing is shallow generally and I often hold my breath. What do you reckon?Jacki
