In my recent experience, it's not the doctor. My doctor prescribed all the right things (cause I insisted on it, lol!) It is the insurance that only covers a certain amount and the DMEs that charge way too much for the equipment.

I was told today that my insurance would cover 90% of $750 maximum for a CPAP. This is pretty good if you are buying from the internet, but when the DME charges $1200 for a $600 CPAP and they hold the contract with insurance, your options are LIMITED. Same goes for the heated humidifier and mask. It's insane.
