my relief

Posted by Alexandra on February04, 2000 at 20:39:03:

I previously struggled with many problems such as sleep diorders. I had TMJ symptoms as well, my jaw constantly popped and clicked and my range of jaw motion was very limited I also had neck, shoulder and jaw pain. My sleep problems included horrible nightmares accompanied by startled awakenings with a rapid heart rate.I also had panic attacks that were relieved. My vision would blur and I had a hard time focusing in college. My shoulders felt hunched and my daytime fatigue was awful. I would come home from shcool and feel exhausted. My point is the relief and care I finally recieved was in Tacoma at a TMJ clinic, there I realized all these problems are interrelated and treatable and most of all, that it wasn't the way I had to continue living. Providing support for my TM joints was what the approach was, it was also monitored by biofeedback to evaluate the physiological responses to the orthotic. The doctor I am seeing adjusts my orthotic every two weeks to follow my healing and postural responses. I also now see a chiropractor. My point is that these problems can be treated. I had seen a few TMJ specialists and there are no other like this place. I have recieved my life back and I no longer am subjected to the saying, "It's just stress, how about trying an antidepressant?" Especially when you know your body and I knew something just wasn't right. Sometimes I even felt like my mind and body were separated. Please write in response.
