I doubt that the unit cost more than mine, which is US$700.00. Therefore, you will break even in about half a year. After that you're ahead of the gam if you buy. The only thing that rental woyuld get you is service. However, the rental price is so high, it's actually cheaper to replace the machine once a year. Of course, the machine should last at least three years.
If you're a new CPAP user, you might want to rent with an option to buy.
