snowwhite-I use a full face mask and took an elastic sweatband and sized it so that it put a direct pull on the mask into my face.With this setup i do not have to tighten my mask down to tight and still get the benifits of no leaks.You didn't say if you stuck your face in the pillow or not but that would be a no no as that was block the exaust port.This port is their to wash out the carbon dioxide you exhale and do not rebreath it.Look in the past posts on masks and check out all kind of mask problems and how everybody had delt with them.John
