Nocturnal urinary frequency is a very common and well known symptom of obstructive sleep apnea. The hormonal changes that take place during normal sleep that shut down nocturnal production urine are disrupted by the frequent sleep arousals caused by OSA and the failure to spend any significant time in REM, Stage 3, or Stage 4 sleep.
