Desperation Mounting !! FF mask does not help.

Posted by Don Bradley (seattle) on April 08, 2000 at 17:48:50:

Getting really desperate.
Full Face Mirage (medium) mask does not help.
Mask rides up, despite use of chin strap.
Mask leaks seem to result in extremely loud whine, mask leaks near bridge of nose cause red eyes that have been dried from constant air stream. I was keeping the Mirage nasal mask on all night, but apparently breathing through my mouth. Now I can't even keep the FF mask on and I am waking up every two hours if I do not use the mask and far more frequently if I do use it.
Its real difficult to exhale using the FF mask too. I'm at 20 inches of cpap pressure, so exhalation is no simple matter to begin with.
I'm considering a 'Breeze' nasal set-up that appears to be a 'mask less' nasal pillow setup of some sort.
But its expensive to try all these options and DME is not covered by insurance at all.
