I've been on Zoloft for about a year now, and on CPAP for going on three weeks. I too am hoping to wean off the Zoloft, but I'm going to wait until I've been on the CPAP for a little longer. I'm just beginning to feel the benefits of my new bedpartner (CPAP that is)!

I normally have pretty low blood pressure (about 118/75). I've had occasion to go off the meds a couple time since I started taking them, and each time I have noticed a tingleing in my hands and some lightheadedness if I stand up too quickly. Both these would go along with low blood pressure. The tingling went away after I'd been off the med for a while.

The major complaint which led me to be treated with antidepressants off and on over the course of ten years was always excessive daytime sleepiness. Many of the meds they put me on made matters much worse! I had some really scary experiences behind the wheel - even though the doc had me on an amphetamine, along with the antidepressant (Effexor), at the time. Zoloft has been the best of all the meds I've taken for helping me feel more alert during the day. None of them "made me feel like a new person", and all of them have had undesireable side effects. I'm just a little miffed that I was never sent for a sleep study (even though I had casually mentioned it) until I ended up at the Chronic Fatigue Clinic.

If nothing else, I'm certainly feeling the most optomistic I have in years. In fact, yesterday I had a pretty rough day at work and marvled in how well I was able to tolerate it.

Keep us posted on how it goes without the Zoloft, BTDT.
