Carolyn, I do not (to my knowledge, at least) have any centrals, but I do take a beta-blocker called Toprol XL, which I believe is the "latest and greatest" as they say. This may assist you in research. All my docs know I have OSA and none has commented on an adverse relationship between Toprol XL and OSA.

This med is quite something. It pushes my heartrate (beats per minute) from 90-110 bmp down to a steady 63 bpm. Lowest in my entire life, even as a teenager. It does make me somewhat tired, however, but this is a known side effect.

I cannot comment on the incidence of high blood pressure and CSA, but I now take four medications to lower blood pressure and barely keep it within tolerable ranges. Yesterday, however, it was 131/71, and all-time low, so maybe I'm making some progress at last.
