DeAnna,
Was your diagnosis based on the result of a sleep study?
A friend of mine was diagnosed with and treated for narcolepsy. She had been falling asleep during the day, even during converstaions. She eventually had a sleep study and was found to have rather severe sleep apnea. She started CPAP immediately. Now, she sleeps all night and is awake all day. After a couple of weeks she got on her scale and found it read 15 pounds less than she had expected, probably due to her increased energy and activity levels. So, hang in there and push for a sleep study; things may be better than you think.
