Posted by Therese on September 25, 1998 at 06:51:27:My husband fell asleep or so I think at the wheel 4 weeks ago. He went to emergency after this episode becaue he was so disoriented after being startled by another driver. He had alot of blood work done and was released with nothing wrong. 4 days later he admited to me that it had hapened before 1 1/2 years earlier again while driving but he thought it was the flu and never told me about it. The next day I made an appointment to have him seen again. He was seen immediately and given referrals for an EEG, EKG, MRI and a sleep test. He was given appointment for Oct, Nov, and Dec dates. Through much pressure on my part he had the sleep test 2 weeks ago with possile reason to do further sleep test. I gave him a sleep apnea test on the internet and of the 30 questions asked he answered 20 yes when only 5 needed to be answered yes for concern. I have spoken with him upfront expressing my concern to get a handle on the situation because it is affecting our marriage. I am frustrated he has no energy , he falls asleep as soon as he hits anything, the couch, the bed etc. I am also very sexual and he has no desire for it. A week went by when I told him to call the doctor again and express his concern because he wants to quit his job, He did not call and again I was frustrated. I am 40 and have a 6 and 8 year old boys, a 19 year old daughter and a 1 month old grand daughter. I feel like I'm taking care of everyone and my husband cant't take care of me. I phoned myself the Dr and spoke with the tech in charge of the test. He had the referral in front of him and gave me a date of November. I told him how his driving status had been referred to the DMV and that his quality of life was daminishing, Itold him how he want to quit his job after 28 years as a Safeway manager and that he can't make simple decissions. It's too late to make a long story short. The bottom line is he is sleeping at a clinic tonight. I was amazed at how pushy I could be and the results I would get for doing so. He is very nervous and is worried they won't find anything. Last night while I desperatly wanted to be made love to and felling very alone I suggested the option with him as we got into bed and before he could finish saying "you did" he was quitely snoring. I slept on the coach downstairs only because it felt less lonely. Please someone respond to me with words of encouragement. My husband is getting so frustrated with me because he feels I am asking for too much. Are all of these symptoms? I would appreciate any response. I have ben on the interned for hours trying to find other people with my feelings. Thanks, Therese
